Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed that he would be open to returning to Stamford Bridge in a coaching capacity at some point in the future.

The legendary midfielder, 37, left the Premier League once and for all last week as he prepares for his stint with New York City FC, following a loan spell at Manchester City.

Lampard’s affinity with the Blues is well documented but he incurred the wrath of a small section of fans when he represented the Citizens during the 2014-15 campaign.

Nevertheless, the former England midfielder hints that he would be more than happy to take up a different role at Chelsea in the future if the opportunity came along.

“I’ll always keep my season ticket at Chelsea though and if they want me back in any capacity…” he told the Daily Star.

Chelsea fans – would you have Lampard on the coaching staff? Let us know below.

Who needs him? He’s a betrayal and traitor! Though he was a good player at chelsea but he’s been a bad egg in the team. He conspired against Villas Boaz and also Ancelotti and even agaist Fernando Torres. I dislike him bcos he’s not a loyal player to chelsea, He joined a rival club in other to hurt chelsea board and all chelsea fans at large thinking that he would win the premier league with man city so he could laugh at chelsea.. I don’t like him as a person but I like him as a footballer. #we don’t need him as a coach at chelsea

You are wrong @conquest! What would you have done if you were him? He Lampard believes he still has something to offer and can still play at the highest level, he wanted so much to remain at CFC but they released him showing his services were no longer needed so when the opportunity to play for another Epl giant club he accepted it. You will always remain a legend and my idol!
