Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed that he would be open to returning to Stamford Bridge in a coaching capacity at some point in the future.

The legendary midfielder, 37, left the Premier League once and for all last week as he prepares for his stint with New York City FC, following a loan spell at Manchester City.

Lampard’s affinity with the Blues is well documented but he incurred the wrath of a small section of fans when he represented the Citizens during the 2014-15 campaign.

Nevertheless, the former England midfielder hints that he would be more than happy to take up a different role at Chelsea in the future if the opportunity came along.

“I’ll always keep my season ticket at Chelsea though and if they want me back in any capacity…” he told the Daily Star.

Chelsea fans – would you have Lampard on the coaching staff? Let us know below.
