In-demand Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne has hit out at Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for selling him 18 months ago.
The Belgian hotshot has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest properties after a stellar 2014-15 campaign that included 16 goals and 27 assists in all competitions.
He joined the Bundesliga outfit for £18 million in January, 2014, after struggling for first-team chances under Mourinho.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a £50m summer move to Manchester City, and De Bruyne hopes that the Portuguese coach regrets selling him.
“I still don’t understand why Jose Mourinho let me leave. I never discussed it with him. I started to play and then it was finished,” he told The Express.
“After four months, I asked him to leave. I didn’t want to stay at a club where I wasn’t even playing for 10 minutes. He said it was my attitude in training? It is an excuse he can use.
“But no-one can say that as they haven’t seen me train. I don’t think that in Belgium or in the Bundesliga they have complained about this.
“That is the way it is. I am not angry. When I was transferred to Wolfsburg, Chelsea got their money. Everyone was happy.”
Chelsea fans – was Mourinho wrong to let him leave? Let us know below.
Give me one name of a player that Jose hasnt crticized? Its his trick to test the willingness of a player to respond. If he proves wrong then you the star in Mou’s book !! Ronaldo, Zlatan, etoo, Hazard, cole, Benzema, Higuin, Ballack etc all had gone thro and best them…KDB is most welcome again..Chelsea fan !
Mourinyo loves old horses
I think he dd well coz he got no respect ,u cn b better player, if you got no manners u won’t last at the club,bt now he has learned it’s good for him.
So he can I come, I know he still wish to return
Yes!!! JM was wronge to sell kelvin Debrunye.l wish to see him back in stamford brigbe
its true he made amistake,bt we d funs still need u.u hav provd him wrong.so cam bk pli…z! Ur still a blue.
4get about d past, matic was sold bt he was bght back again.
De Bruyne wasn’t giving the chance and time he needed to prove his worth at chelsea. But he’s still a true blue, come back home we’re waiting for your arrival @kelvindebruyne
De bruyne ddnt prove himself well enough for a team like chelsea. Harzard, oscar, willian and the rest was also given a little opportunity from the start but they all used that little chance to prove them selves. A big club does not wait and will never wait for you to pickup slowly. These clubs do not develop a player, you must hit the ground going when you arrive and that is what de bruyne should learn and understand.
kelvin, as for my opinion,u shld b thankful to jose for letting u go and explore ur talent. His mistake turned to a rich blessing to u. So if u feel like coming back, the choice is urs. I knw, once a blue, always a blue!!
