Spanish journalist Guillem Balague usually gets a negative reaction from Chelsea fans with his praise for the likes of Rafael Benitez and Fernando Torres but he took a break from trolling Blues fans on Twitter to comment on some transfer speculation.

The tweet was in relation to Radamel Falcao, a long term target of Chelsea’s, Balague said:

“Do you know who is also in London? Miguel Angel Gil, the big boss at Atletico de Madrid talking to clubs about Falcao for next summer.”

He didn’t really expand on the matter as the tweet came at the end of some words about Alvaro Negredo, who is expected to switch Sevilla for Tottenham this month, but it is worth mentioning as Falcao is the object of desire as far as forwards go for Chelsea fans.

Demba Ba looks like a good signing, especially for the price, and should help see us through the season but it is clear to me that Fernando Torres has not future at Stamford Bridge and if Miguel Angel Gil is in London to discuss Falcao’s future then you know he isn’t speaking to Spurs or Arsenal, so it could only be in relation to a move to Chelsea.

Also, Atletico have always maintained that Falcao’s release clause has to be met if he’s to leave Stamford Bridge but they will be concerned over who to replace him with. If these meetings are taking place, and this is pure speculation on my part, they’d have to be about more than Chelsea agreeing to meet the fee which makes me wonder if there’s any possibility that Torres could be included in the deal as was once the theory. He’s still a popular figure among the Atletico support and if the fans are to lose Falcao then replacing him with Torres could be an important political move by their board.

However, Balague has proven to be unreliable in the past and it’s best to take this one with a pinch of salt. Thought it was still worth mentioning though.

Well Torres has no future in chelsea cause he has been given enough time to prove his worth but is yet to regain his timelight. Including him in the deal to land Falcao is a nice one he is son of the soil and he has been there before. So his name will still ring well in their ear. Better luck Elenio Hope to see Ramdeal Falcao @ D Bridge.

  3. wel as for me Ramdeal facao his a good replacement for torres becouse torres has nor being doing enythin

Torres NEEDS to leave Chelsea to have any chance of regaining his respect as a striker. No matter how hard the club has tried or how hard he has tried it is just NOT working out. His ideal destination would be back to his homeland. Back to where it all began for him at Athletico. The big question is, do the maths add up and how much of that £50m is Roman prepared to see lost? Buying Falcao in at top dollar and losing Torres for peanuts will be a very bitter pill for the Russian to swallow.

The £50m is gone and for every week Torres is at Chelsea he’s costing us more. Selling him for even £10-15m at this stage would save a fortune in wages.

I’ll be so excited to see R.Falcao in the Bridge.Torres is not making any impact since Didier .D left Chelsea.Pls the mgt should try an bring Falcao to the Stmford Bridge.

The misfortune of Chelsea this season is caused by Torres. Lose Super cup, and World Club cup; coupled with the series of sacked coaches and the appointment of the noise maker, talkertive, loquacious and Dope coach Rafa. Who desired to play sick and out-of form Torres for good 80mins of player, while Ba was on reserve. Fuck!!!!!

  7. Immortal says:

Wao! thats gud. Chelsea has gone a long way to tolerate Torres, till now notin seem beta. i dnt blem him but Roman for bringin him when we had Didier,Anelka and Sturridge as our striking options. i tink Roman has learnt his lessons. Swapping Torres to Falcao is the best option now, so as to get his confidence back not in chelsea plz.

1st of all I commend Roman Abramovich for his meritorious effort to make our team d best, now I will support falcao switch for torres, but at d same time I will advise that terry, lampard n cole stay at least for two more seasons, because we have to be carefull of what is happening to Arsenal in which they pocess no matured n experience player,n we should look at man u who has shown interest in these old players, pls sir let them stay

Torres should not just be relegated to a piece of rubbish @least he was worth his own price. Who knws if Falcao can give Chelsea it desire. Pls even if Falcon is to make a switch try give some respect to Torres.
