Spanish club Atletico Madrid have admitted that selling Colombian forward Radamel Falcao could solve their financial difficulties but believe he will still be at the Vicente Calderón at the end of the season.

Falcao has been in sensational this season after scoring 11 goals in seven appearances but was already attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs after his heroics with former club Porto and his 36 goals in his debut season for Atletico last year.

The 26-year-old has some big name admirers in the Premier League including Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal (like they’ll pay up) could either the Blues or the Citizens meet his €60m (approx £48m) buyout clause in the January transfer window?

Atletico general manager says that the sale could solve their money worries:

“€60m (£48m) for Falcao would solve all the economic problems at Atletico.

“I can say for sure, though, that he will stay with us until the end of the season.

“Not only will he stay, but so will all the players that the coach wants to stay.

“We will fight to perform a miracle which is what we are doing with what we have available.

“In Europe there are 50 clubs with more income than we have. If we were to sell Falcao for €60m, then that would cover our debts.”

I don’t think anyone will be waiting until the end of the season if they’re interested because Paris Saint-Germain are willing to meet Falcao’s release clause during the winter transfer window, according to Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague.

I’m not entirely sure why City would want him when they already have the likes of Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero within their ranks. Whereas we’re in need of another forward as we’ve only Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge to call upon and although Torres has been finding the net more than he has previously, he still hasn’t looked convincing.

At the moment Falcao is the best striker in the world, in my opinion, and he’d be an incredible signing for Chelsea. Do you think we should invest the £48 it will take to sign him, stick with what we have or seek a cheaper alternative?

We cant afford to loose Falcao cos of Torres. We re talking about the best striker so far…pls Abrahimovic do the deal,am sure you wont regret it..up cfc!

Mr Gary, thank u very much for ur opinion, for our evergreen squad, I think we need players that will spend more years and grow old with our team. We ve already invested £50m on torres with high wage & he will clock 30yrs in next 2-3yrs yet is not living to expectation.. For crying at loud, Facao will turn 27yrs next yr and no matter how you look at it age tells on players, so £48m on a player who has 2-3 yrs of free active play is not ideal, probably not when FFP is at the corner… We ve young talent out there, players like Schurrle, Neymar etc . Why not focus on long term investment….

Correct.I beta spend 6o milion pounds on neyma dan 48milion on falcao now.

  3. williams says:

Falcao at £45 I would say #NO. At a lesser price ‘£35’ #Yes. Experience they say is de best teacher, torres was de best striker at £50, Well it seem 70% of the suporters are full of regrets nd wearing out patience. Falcao is so convincing, but the price is a big risk. I don’t know why I have this feeling that big boys don’t really do pretty well apart from C7. (kaka, berbatof, villa, nd some chelsea’s) before U right me off list those that did well. Falcao is de best stricker in the world, but wit the attack and creative minds that chelsea posses now, we don’t need the best in the world. Shot power and accurrecy, ball sense and body balanced striker will do.
Am done talking folk. U know what I mean.

I think neymar and Fallani are the players we need….we can recuperate the amount that would be spent on Neymar through the sales of kits…he’s good!

Wiliamz u read ma mind.Cfc curent patarn dnt nid a playa like falcao,i bet u he wil flop wen hazard mata osca combination blends wel.Bring in sum1 yung n creative like neyma.

I couldn’t agree less wit u Richmond,u had the nail on the head. For all the Falcao attraction,£48m is astronomical with huge risk.
And just as Williams had pointed out, Chelsea don’t necessarily need lethal Falcao, our attacking trio (Oscar,Mata & Hazard)will bring out the best in any prolific striker.
What Chelsea need do is invest in a much younger striker wit not so “heavy prize tag” on his head to deputize for Torres when need be, bearing in mind Lukaku is only away on loan and could likewise be recalled as late as the January transfer window from West Brom if more firepower is required.

  5. Edirime says:

No we should not sign him. We should start making world stars from the ones we have now. They only need time to be more better by training and playing together. And know this, falcao is just a goal scorer and not goal assistant. They only work for him. And remember he was not born like this. So lets value what we have and give them room to improve. I am even surprised with the level of understand they have acquired in a short period. If we are to sign superstar, then it should be young talents like neymar.

  6. penchosman says:

Nymar and falcao is good 4 chelsea and need 2 join d team in janenary.

  7. Ben bright says:

I prefer young n talented player like neymer,he’s only 20.rather than breaking the bank 4 falcoa,we must learn from d case of torres

  8. Kaschit says:

Rather go for alexander patto brazilian striker ac mailan

  9. Mourice says:

We need falcao in de bridge pls

  10. Adepoju mascherano adeniyi says:

We nid falcao, cos futball naw is bussinez nd bussinez is eida u gain or lose,so buyin falcao wil mak us achieve many tin nd our jersey market wil move

    • Emmanuel says:

I bet u neyma jersey wil sell dan falcao’s.Wat i knw is dat chelc ar takin a risk if dey buy falcao 4 48m.
