The media claimed that Victor Moses was to sign for Chelsea during the week ahead of our Community Shield clash against Manchester City tomorrow, which didn’t materialise, but the Daily Mirror are sure that he will eventually sign for us soon after weeks of negotiations.

The tabloid claims that Wigan chairman Dave Whelan will allow the 21-year-old to join the FA Cup and Champions League winners at Stamford Bridge for around £9 million, so all that’s left to sort out would be personal terms as well as a medical.

It is a move that could provide a great opportunity for the Nigerian forward who will be keen to impress in London, the city he in which he started his career with Crystal Palace, and hopefully he will have a successful time should he join us. Every signing is a risk and I’ve seen many say that they hope he’s not the next Shaun Wright-Phillips, who promised much but delivered little, although Moses doesn’t come with quite the same price-tag.

Somebody is obviously a big fan of Moses at Chelsea though and they must have been impressed with the performances he gave towards the end of last season. We’ve been chasing him all summer and the press have persistently commented that Roberto Di Matteo is a huge fan of the youngster.

Chelsea will play their first game of the Premier League season against Wigan at the DW Stadium on Sunday the 19th of August.

In other news, the Mirror also claims that Spain and Marseilles right-back Cesar Azpilicueta is next on the agenda as Chelsea plan ‘make-or-break’ talks for the player on Monday.

How do you rate Chelsea’s signings so far this season and would you be happy to see the likes of Moses and Azpilicueta join them?
