As a move for Victor Moses seems to have stalled, Chelsea could turn to wing/forward Andre Schurrle, who plays for Germany and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Blues have already pulled of a major transfer coup this summer by signing the highly rated Eden Hazard and have also signed Marko Marin, but they’re still keen to add some attacking talent as Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou have departed the club, whilst Florent Malouda and Daniel Sturridge have also been linked with an exit.

Roberto Di Matteo has drawn up a list of four targets according to the Metro, with Wigan’s Moses and Schurrle’s names being mentioned but the article neglects to share the other names on the supposed list.

Wigan have already rejected a £4 million bid from Chelsea for Moses’ services despite the fact that the player is desperate to quit the DW Stadium and his agent Tony Finnigan has fallen out with Dave Whelan and the club, he told the Northern Echo:

“All I will say on this matter is that how did Victor Moses end up at Wigan, when he could have gone to Manchester City? Who took him to Wigan?”

There’s no doubt that this argument is set to rumble on but the club aren’t going to put all their eggs in one basket and want to keep their options open, so they’re considering a £7 million bid for Schurrle but it’s certain that Leverkusen will want closer to £15 million.

Moses impressed towards the end of last season as Roberto Martinez’s side battled bravely to avoid the drop in the Premier League. He scored six goals and made six assists.

Schurrle didn’t look the part during his start for Germany against Greece but has a decent campaign in 2011/12. The German netted nine times in his 40 appearances last season.

Who would you prefer to see at the club, Victor Moses, Andre Schurrle or another player? In which areas would you like to see Chelsea strengthen over the summer? Have your say in the comments section below

Moses is better you stay at wigan to prove ur self more before you move to any club

Moses is the man whose services Chelsea should acquire

  4. I personally think Moses,Hulk and Deburchy will make a good signings for us. As for a goalkeeper,we have Blackman which we can promote. If any of the clubs of our targets try to extort us then we should look at our reserve players for options. Blues for life.

  5. Marc CFC/BKK says:

No to Hulk; far too expensive and not proven in the Prem; good stats in a 2 team league doesn’t qualify and although he is still obvious quality and sensible positionally for us, at 20million maybe. Don’t know enough about Schurrle but he hasn’t looked so good at the Euros to me. Moses makes sense at the price and can be eased in at his age. We need a RB more but true, a right wing/attacker also then close the book and start the season; think FFP.

I’m against signing moses. Don’t know how much good he will do for us when there are better options. He is a cheap solution but not the best solution to me. Hulk is the ideal player for CFC and schurrle is a promising player. If we can’t have both then we should get hulk. Jovetic is that bad either.

RDM needs to buy good midfielders. Choose among Modric, Cavani, Moutinho and Sneidjer, and for a striker, choose between Hulk and Ibramovic. We need a powerful striker. Please time is going. Please I don’t want you to get axed.

Don’t get to many young players. We already have a whole squad of brilliant young players that we don’t use like Courtois, Taylor, Hutchinson, Bruma, van Aanholt, Bertrand can get more chances, Romeu, McEachren, Piazon, Davilla, Lalkovic, Lukaku, and we also have youngsters in Hazard and Marin. Get more experienced players. We need a RB, an excellent holding midfielder, maybe another central creative midfielder, another winger/striker and an attacker, I’m thinking van der wiel, Fellaini, Moutinho, Hulk and Cavani. I think Roman should just spend big once more, as this is the last chance before FFP.

i do like to see halk, cavani, and modric, but napoli are unwiling to alow cavani a move, so what then should we do? Let’s fight for halk and make his arriver secure. Halk will be ok. RDM should raise money to sign him,
