It has been suggested that Chelsea are to ditch their plans to sign Hulk as Porto aren’t budging on their valuation of the player and the Blues will turn their attentions elsewhere, but they could be using links to Radamel Falcao and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as a ploy to force Porto to rethink their negotiation strategy.

Chelsea are keen to bolster their attacking options and Hulk remains their number one target but I don’t believe they have ruled out the likes of the aforementioned, only Falcao is off limits according to Atletico Madrid. Huntelaar failed to make much of an impression in La Liga or Serie A but it would seem as though he found his form in the Bundesliga by scoring 29 goals in 32 matches last season, could he bring that sort of form into the Premier League and with a minimum release clause of £17m, could it be a bargain?

However, despite being available at a good price, Huntelaar cannot play in the wider positions as Hulk does so would more than likely be cover for Fernando Torres if he’s signed. We do need another forward though as Didier Drogba has left, Romelu Lukaku is likely to go out on loan, Daniel Sturridge has only a year left and is reportedly unhappy, so it may be smarter to cash in on him whilst we can. Also, Torres has not shown enough to inspire complete faith and I have my doubts over him being the forward we need/deserve.

Edinson Cavani is also set to leave Napoli and he’s been linked with the Stamford Bridge club in the past. Could Porto’s hand be forced with all this talk of us looking at other forwards? The club want the player and the player wants the club, I’m still certain that this deal will go through but we’ll have to wait and see.

    I tried coming up with someone I could see on the right wing and I just couldn’t think of any player that would be more suited too the position in the chelsea team, and one of the main facts I think will help hulk is the fact he can come straight in and know people so he can settle down quickly. I think chelsea have got too wrap up this deal pay the 40m if that’s what it takes. And on another note who would you like too see maybe come in as a right back maybe centre mid if we get rid of 1 or 2. I’m saying debuchy as I think he’ll give a good balance too the right hand side much like cole. And I’ve really liked watching Moutiniho in the euros, his passing is incredible, tackles solid, good dribbler and I think he’d be ideal in a double pivot with rammy, pace energy and passing ability bring on the new season. Come on the Chels

    These rumors won’t help the deal as huntelaar is already 28 and Chelsea want youth. I think hulk is over priced. Marin, Mata, or Hazard can play the three attacking roles in the 4-2-3-1. Mayb even Moses is the rumors are true and he is younger and cheaper. There are atleast three RB that cud fit well in piszcek, debuchy and van der Weil which would all be an improvement defensively and going forward than bosingwa

    I think hulk is d right person 4 chelsea in d right wing and debuchy in d right back… We even need s rondon as our back up striker…. Up blues

    Does we actually need new back-up striker? First, I see Hulk as a winger more than a striker. If he come, then he could play out wide in the right side to cut-in and make the powerful left-foot shot. But for another central striker, I think not, we could move Sturridge back to his prefered position as a back-up for Torres. Also give the chance to Lukaku too. Hulk could be ignored from his highly quoted proce tag from Porto, we still have to find other winger target, not a striker.

    chelsea should still persue hulk because i can really see anyone suitable for that position as right winger n seeing his skills, flair on the , his strenght on the ball, his ability to shoot from long range just like drogba n above all his assistant in goal scoring. Am a die hard chelsea fan n i wish Roman Abromohvic would buy hulk n perhaps add debunchy as a rightback n possibly add victor moses n hantlaar!!

    Chelsea target Hulk is a good choice 4 chelsea,i think chelsea dont need a backup striker 4 now cos d case wil just b lik Drogba nd Torres.we nid 2 giv d likes of lucas Piazon,davila nd sturridge d chance 2 prove demselves…

    @ dammy,you are on point.What is the essence of wasting so much money when we have brilliant young stars.Piazon,mceachran,bertrand and hutchinson could do it if they are vested with the responsibility.Acquiring big names has been hindering and will continue to hinder the development raw talents in the academy.Very good examples are borini,sinclair et al.
    Presence of big name on the bench could even be affecting player in his position on the pitch.Example is the arrival of Torres that all chelsea strikers dropped form.

    Fc Porto are only prolonging Hulk’s tranfer, on a very good day, they are going to call Chelsea to pay for the £30m. I bet u… Hulk is already Chelsea player for 2012/2013 season. Hulk, ‘you are welcom to stanford bridge’

    • or says:

      things really do not work like that;
      we do not really need the stars to be aligned this july to get hulk, but it is a difficult deal nevertheless!!!! i wish i was wrong!
