Chelsea are yet to have a new manager in place but are already looking to bring new additions to Stamford Bridge this summer, with five players set to leave the club and another five come in, according to The Independent.

The newspaper suggests that Nicolas Anelka, Yury Zhirkov, Jose Bosingwa, Paulo Ferreira and Henrique Hilario will be leaving west London. And despite reports linking Didier Drogba with a move away, the club are not planning on moving him on, apparently.

It is believed that Neymar (Santos), Kevin de Bruyne (Genk), Romelu Lukaku (Anderlecht), Dutch right-back Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax) and a reliable backup goalkeeper like Asmir Begovic are the five players that Chelsea hopes to sign ahead of next season.

However, whether we’re playing 442 or 433, it really wouldn’t make any sense to have Neymar, Lukaku, Drogba, Fernando Torres, Salomon Kalou and Daniel Sturridge at the club, it sounds as though we’d just be creating a headache for ourselves and if we were to continue with the preferred 433 we’ll be playing players out of position, why not buy wingers to play wide instead of putting forwards there? And if we change to 442, again the same problem, de Bruyne can play left side but still no right-sided winger/midfielder.

Also, it doesn’t address the need for a natural passer or playmaker in midfield and it will be disappointing if we continue to let this long-standing weakness go unresolved.

Instead of going for that lump Lukaku, why not spend the money on an attacking midfielder/winger like Eden Hazard, who creates chance after chance for Ligue 1 champions Lille, Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez, Werder Bremen’s Marko Marin or even make a cheeky bid for Tottenham’s Luka Modric?

Is Neymar really worth the attitude or will he be the next Robinho? Karim Benzema only has a year left on his contract at Real Madrid, could cost as little as £7m and despite being billed as something of a disappointment there, he has scored 35 goals and made 13 assists in his 81 appearances for the club. Kevin Gameiro has also impressed in France for his club Lorient by scoring 21 goals this season, as has Edinson Cavani, who has scored 26 in Serie A for Napoli.

If the striker making way for Neymar is Anelka, now a bit-part player at Stamford Bridge, then how do we expect to keep Torres and Drogba happy, as well as Neymar? I doubt Drogba will be happy to play backup for his £120k-a-week wages, Salomon Kalou seems disenchanted with his ‘super-sub’ tag and Sturridge, having impressed out on loan at Bolton, could be disappointingly loaned back out or even sold.

What ins/outs would you like to see at the club this summer?

Chelseas Middlegame has always been heavily emphasized on physical men. So even suggestion smaller players like Nasri or Modric are pretty hilarious. But ofcourse sometimes we let in some more technical players like Malouda and Kalou. but a player that never is mentioned is Schweinsteiger. I would buy Schweinsteiger and probably sell on plenty players. Or we could try out to reform chelsea and start buying 24- players and go with our youth program and younger players. chelsea has a very good youth program and plenty good young players.

  4. Cfc says:

Chelsea have got to bear in mind that we have BOTH the African nations AND the South American cups next season and so will be losing Drogs, Kalou,Essien, Mikel, Luiz, Alex and Ramires for a spell next winter. We should concentrate on bringing in some top European talent. I would only make an exception for Sanchez because he is so versatile in playing on the wing or just behind the central striker. Mata should also be on the list together with Sneider, Bale and a reserve keeper like Stockwell at Fulham IMHO. A true midfield magician like a young Deco would be great but I cannot think of one that would be available at the moment other than possibly Diego.

    • Chris says:

As a third winger we shouldn’t take a chance with Mata in stead should go for Robben.

    • Anthony Williams says:

Great point, Alan. I’d keep Essien and Mikel around, even though the former had a poor season and latter never gets credited for anything he does well.

But Drogba needs to go for the benefit of Torres, who we invested in and it only makes sense to make him the main man, it won’t happen with Didier around, it’s one lone striker too many.

As for Kalou, it’s up to him. He’ll want first team football.

  6. ricky may says:

In : neymar, sanchez, van der wiel, and hamsik/pastore, I’m liking the 4-3-3 with vdw, luiz, terry, cole midfield lamps pastore/hamsik with an attack of sanchez torres/sturidge/drogba then neymar would destroy! But 4-1-3-2 would suit these new players I reckon that formation could be the new 4-3-3 which we all loved! Torres and sturidge upfront with sanchez and neymar either side of the 3 with pastore/ piazon when he’? ready in the middle and the holding 2 essien and lamps now wot u think of that??

    • kyle says:

I love that idea…that would be a sick attack and if easien continues to not want to attack then we can just let him cover letting lamp roam a little more. Really like it.

    • Chelsea blue says:

If we had 2 holding we would have 12 players on the pitch :L look you said 4-1-3-2
So Torres and Sturridge upfront Neymar and Sanchez wings with Piazon behind with 2 holding count the players makes 12 :L

  7. Stefan from Sweden says:

Hi mates, I think we need to get a coach who has a clear idea of how he wants to bring the game to our opponent, one who dares to take risks when we are below, and have good relationship with Roman Abramovich and the players. But also one who has experienced from Europe and who has experience from his younger days.

    Players out:
    Hilario-disaster
Ferreira & Bosingwa – Ferreira is slow and is not, unfortunately. Bosingwa is not a good position player, always up in the attack and leave gaps at the back.
Zhirkov, were hurt more often than he has played, uneven.
Anelka / Malouda / Kalou – Starting to get old, stubborn and not playing for the team but for themselves. Kalou is uneven, can get a better replacement as”super-sub.”

    Out on loan:
    Burma, Van Aanholt, Kakuta-Hamburg?
Sturridge to Bolton last another season if we purchase many strikers.
If we buy Kevin the BUYR, loan so that he gets playing time and may correct the elaboration, Anderlecht?

    Players in:
Begovic as a backup to Cech?
Van der Wiel-Promising solid right-back! Good offense and defense!
A creative central midfielder, Montolivo? Hamisk? Modric?
Forwards: Lukaku, Neymar & Aguero-two of which must be purchased to get a sharp attack!

KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYIN HIGH!

    • Sean says:

      Harry Redknapp?

      • Stefan from Sweden says:

Maybe, I dont think that he will leave spurs… I don’t know really it’s difficult.. I’d love to have the German manager Joachim Löw who did a good work with Germany last summer on the World Cup!

  8. gary says:

We must remember that Neymar is not just a striker. He plays from deep, he often attacks down a wing, he turns defenders inside-out and provides some amazing balls for other strikers. He would be a great replacement for Malouda or Anelka. He can be seen as a winger, play-maker and striker in one.

  9. Faruq says:
