Chelsea are close to wrapping up a deal for Colombian marksman Radamel Falcao, according to reports in Spain.

Falcao endured a miserable season-long loan spell in England with Manchester United last term, netting just four goals as the Red Devils opted against a permanent deal.

Nevertheless, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has retained an admiration for the 29-year-old and will hope to help him rediscover his talismanic form prior to joining United, according to Punto Pelota.

The AS Monaco striker has also courted interest from Zenit St Petersburg and Valencia.

Chelsea fans – would you have Falcao? Let us know below.

I like to see him in our team because he is good prayer as well as striker.

The name of Falcao echoed around the world as one of the greatest strikers of our time, then Disaster he left a great club for a money orientated club, (Monaco) were his desire to become even greater suddenly diminished together with the passion he once possessed. He then went to Man Utd and for some reason other than his injury could not be coached back into the player he once was and reputations playing in the best league mean nothing unless you deliver on the field. He would of course be the subject of jealousy in the ranks of the other players as he commanded a salary of £265,00 per week. The question now is could Mourinho as the best coach in the world remodel the undoubted talents that the player once had and more importantly how would his signing effect the confidence of Costa. If the price was right I would say yes lets give him a chance.

Falcao is 29 and already in his prime as a striker.Jose will get the best out of him sure. The question with Costa a highly injury prone and combative striker, bringing Falcao is a gamble.A young player like Icardi,Martinez or even Lacazette that will hit the ground running as backup and even play alongside costa. That would be wise not trying to get the best out of a EPL FLOP.
