Chelsea are weighing up a £20m summer move for Everton right-back Seamus Coleman as Jose Mourinho prepares to bolster his squad for next season.

The newly-crowned Premier League champions are wasting no time in building a team capable of defending their title, despite winning it by a landslide this season.

Nevertheless, manager Jose Mourinho is keen to get his summer business completed as early as possible and will attempt to add Coleman to his ranks during the off-season, according to the Daily Mail.

Coleman, a Republic of Ireland international, has won plenty of praise for his performances this season and Mourinho views him as a long-term replacement for Branislav Ivanovic.

With nine goals, no defender in the Premier League has netted more times than the Irishman.

Should Mourinho sign him? Let us know below.

Well with such a great performance this to season and looking at he’s capabilities we have to get him fast but we need to take a second look at the price tag.

Chelsea don’t need Coleman as Branislav Ivanovich has just agreed a new contract extension and we have Dave as cover. Chelsea will be looking for One major summer signing and that isn’t Coleman. Expect to see a proven 15 to 20 goal a season attacking player brought in and some brilliant Chelsea younger players brought in. It is no coincidence that Roman Abramovich and son Arkady have been watching our brilliant and highly successful youth teams lately. Returning from AC Milan (who now want to buy him), Chelsea will have what will be like a new signing in Marco van Ginkel. This elegant and talented Dutch player is as good as Matic which to Chelsea fans is huge praise indeed. van Ginkel will excel on the Chelsea summer tour as will Nathan Ake, Ruben Loftus Cheek and Dominic Solanki. The future is bright for Chelsea football club as they already own all of the above players (and many more) who are on the cusp of great things. Many reports will be coming out as usual about Chelsea being interested in every available player this summer but Chelsea fans should be pleased about our lack of activity in the transfer market as this means that Chelsea youngsters are being given a chance. Expect Jose,s next piece of genius is to build a new next gen team predominantly from our academy and not from the likes of mature Everton full backs.
