The son of Jose Mourinho has leapt to the defence of underfire Cesc Fabregas and blasted the ‘disgraceful’ Chelsea fans guilty of booing him on Sunday

Having kicked off his spell in west London with 19 assists in 31 games, Fabregas has since failed to set up a goal in his last 10 outings, culminating in criticism from the fanbase.

But frustrations appeared to reach boiling point in the 1-1 draw with Southampton as the Spaniard was reportedly jeered by some sections of the Stamford Bridge crowd for another lacklustre display.

And the vitriol seems to have irked mini Mourinho, who took to Instagram to launch a passionate defence of the £27 million summer signing.

“Why is everyone hating and blaming Fabregas for Sunday’s performance… It was a team effort,” Jose Mario Mourinho Junior wrote.

“Fabregas might have not played as well as most expected but at least he kept fighting… Showed a lot of character.

“I’ve seen bad Chelsea fans but Sunday was the worse I’ve ever seen, Fans booing Cesc not singing at all, I completely agree with the chant ‘Mourinho’s right, you’re fans are shite’. Our fans are a disgrace!!!!”

The post was later deleted, but is the Special One’s son right in his assessment of Fabregas? Let us know below.
