Glad to see that Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Willian and Samuel Eto’o were rewarded for their midweek performance against Schalke but slightly disappointed that John Obi Mikel did not get the nod ahead of Frank Lampard. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated Lampard’s cameo on Wednesday night in the Champions League but believe that’s exactly the role he should be playing as an impact player in attacking positions, not as a deep lying midfielder as he hasn’t got the legs for it and it doesn’t suit him.
Nevertheless I think it’ll be a winning XI for Chelsea against former Blue Steve Clarke and his West Brom side.
Good selection, think Azpi certainly deserves his place and Willian after his great European night, Eto’o a no brainer; but I completely agree with you, despite my obvious affection for the legend that is Lampard, I think Mikel should play, in my opinion, arguably the most underrated player in the Prem and offers more solid cover in front of the defense. Ahh..jose repeated his mistakes no doubt and paid the prize. Azpi in the left back was wrong. It should have been AZPI instead of IVA. Mikel instead of Lamps . Mata instead of Oscar. never thought that oscar would play this badly..however from mistakes we learn hope jose does the same and has mata starting as his CAM. against Hammers!!last year we lost with them. We cannot afford to slip further!!!!!
Cheers! We l win 🙂
