Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has given a damning verdict on La Liga and believes that the domination of Real Madrid and Barcelona is hurting the Spanish top flight.
Mata joined Chelsea from Valencia and won the FA Cup and Champions League during his time in London. The 24-year-old said that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve this with his old club such is the dominance of Los Blancos and Barca.
The Spaniard told France Foot:
“I’m a little worried to see so many players leave the Spanish Liga, for the competitiveness of the league.
“We have two teams fighting for the title, and the third, for four years, ends 30 points [behind] the champion.
“If you don’t play for Real or Barca, you can’t win a trophy.”
He’s worried that more Spanish players will have to leave just like he did in order to win things, like Fernando Torres did and Santi Cazorla has joined Arsenal hoping to win silverware (seven years? Good luck with that, Santi).
Mata is quite right; I don’t know why anyone would want to play in the Spanish league. How much ambition do you have when you play for one top side and only have one other to beat? Its a two club league.

La liga is just like scutish league one person can score 70 goals in la liga league….. While in epl u can only have 30-35 goals is a season thats to tell u that epl is more tougher than laliga….

The fact that barcelona an real are beating other tearms does not mind it competitive.If it not competitive why can the English always beat the Spanish in the erupa league or the champions league? Pls the English league is not competitive just the sponsorship that’s all guys!
