Brazilian midfielder Oscar is looking forward to starting his career at Chelsea and is hoping that he can convince his international team-mate Neymar to join him at Stamford Bridge when he eventually decides to leave Santos and make the move to Europe.

Oscar signed for us from Internacional last month and has been impressive during Brazil’s Olympic campaign, which is the first proper look most of us has had of him on these shores, but was highly thought of in his home country beforehand and they don’t just give their number 10 shirt to anybody.

The 20-year-old, quoted in the People, was speaking about his hopes of Neymar joining him in west London:

“While we are in London, I have been telling Neymar about the ambition of Chelsea. When the time comes for him to join a European club, I hope I can persuade him.”

Oscar has not yet kicked a ball for the Blues but already seems to have complete faith in the ambition of the club and was impressed by our Champions League win, which has made it possible to sign him and players like Eden Hazard as things probably wouldn’t have gone this way if we were in the Europa League.

“When my agent told me that Chelsea were interested it was not something I even needed to think about.

“They are the champions of Europe, but they are still showing so much ambition by improving the squad.

“To win the European Cup and still sign guys like myself and Eden Hazard shows you the ambition the owner and manager have.

“With the squad we have I will be looking at winning the Premier League title and also the Champions League.

“I know it is very difficult to win [the Champions League] twice in a row and even Barcelona could not do it, but with what Chelsea have in place it is very possible.”

It seems as though Oscar wins over the fans more and more every time we get a quote for him as well as he has for his impressive displays on the pitch for Brazil, and his ambition is admirable. Hopefully he will convince Neymar over a move to Chelsea. I know that people aren’t impressed by his apparent attitude but these players are special and he’s capable of matching the world’s best.

Do you think the presence of Oscar, Ramires, David Luiz and Piazon could help convince Neymar to join Chelsea over the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona when he decides to leave Brazil?

Who knows? Real Madrid could be his most likely destination as Barcelona probably don’t have the financial capacity to compete with them or Chelsea, even though they would never actually admit it. Winning the Champions League has changed everything for Chelsea as they have added their name to the elite and a star onto their badge. In the meantime I am delighted with what we have and cannot wait to see Oscar in action for Chelsea.

    how does a player feel when asked to play a STRICTLY tiki taka football passing game?

    everything is reduced to looking around to find a colleague player,
    and pass it to him!! that is the only pleasure you can have,
    almost no long range shots are allowed, or you going for it dribbling a few, crossing, etc, they are all almost not allowed!
    **it works for barcelona, they win (most of the time),
    but where’s player’s pleasure??

    if neymar realises the kind of controls/reins he will wear all the time on him if playing for barca, then chelsea has a chance; probably real madrid , chelsea, man utd, man city stand a chance;

    ** apologies if i simplified tiki taka too much, it is a player’s perspective what he gets out of it;

    This is just the beginning…for me, Chelsea has a team that can beat any other if we can be organizated. In as much as no one wants to consider david a natural 4, I see the reason. Well let’s keep Czech as NO1, cole nd ivanovich, david nd JT or cahil, mikel and ramires, oscar as my sure No.10 mata and marin will interchange on the right while my incisive hazard will operate from the left (so that he can cut in, his right foot is wicked and we need him to make use of that by placing him right). If this team can blend together, Any striker is bound to deliver even our £50m inconsistent El nino.
    Victor is so offencive and he’s so good on assult and if we get him, we won’t be needing hulk any longer.
    Chelsea is destined for success…Mr RDM this is ur chance for that height. And U should be thankful to able Roman.
    God Bless Chelseafc.

    Simple. Whoever offers the most money gets the player which means he will go to Chelsea or Man City. None of these players want to join Chelsea but money talks. Thank you Roman for everything. We have signed 2 Hazards; Oscar; Marin; Moses is on his way. We already have Mata and Sturridge so we will have 7 players vying for 3 positions. We don’t need them all; Roman knows nothing about football, but he wants to be entertained. We won the Champions League playing long ball to Drogba and packing the defence so now he has got the trophy he wanted he now wants to be entertained. Goodness only knows what 11 Roman will pick next year and what formation he will use, but it’s going to be exciting to say the least.

  7. We need goal machine like van persie or lewandoski, torres is inconsishtent so we need a striker dat can score week in week out.daniel should not be sold to spurs
