Porto and Brazil star Hulk has spoken of his delight to have been linked with Champions League holders Chelsea and believes he will win major honours, should he make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

He’s been linked with a move to the Blues for sometime, especially when Andre Villas-Boas was first brought to west London and he’s been heavily tipped to join us despite the departure of the Portuguese manager, who he won the Europa League with when they worked together at Porto.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of top clubs around Europe and Villas-Boas’ new club Tottenham. But it would seem he’s keener on Chelsea than he is reuniting with his old boss, if his interview with FourFourTwo is anything to go by.

When asked about the rumours of him moving to Chelsea, the Brazilian forward replied:

“I am very happy. They are the European champions and the best club in Europe at the moment.

“For me, it is a huge achievement that they want me to play for them.

“I want to continue to win trophies. That is what I want to do if I join Chelsea.”

Now, although these quotes have only been published recently, I’ve heard that the interview itself was done in June which was before the talk of ‘Hulk to Chelsea’ died down. However, he’s obviously keen on joining the club and there’s a complication with third-party ownership, and this could take some time to resolve.

One of the reasons why talk went quiet is because he’s currently on international duty with Brazil at the Olympics and there won’t be much movement until he’s done there. Oscar was signed during the games, but had already had a medical with Chelsea and most of the deal was in place before the tournament began.

Hulk could be the perfect signing for Chelsea as he plays on the right wing and can play forward, which could be useful as we have no idea what Fernando Torres we’re going to see this season. The Brazilian has scored 76 goals in 166 games for Porto, who will be willing to play hard ball up until deadline day on this one.

David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Lucas Piazon are already at the club, will Hulk join our contingent of Brazilian players?

We all ve forgoten a right back who really proved he worth that position during preseason tour..’Hutchinson’.. To me this player is more than capable to brake into the first eleven, why cant we give the youth the chance to exploit their abilities… Yes if you are a true blue and ve been following the colour during preseason, probably you would ve seen things from my angle.. Talking about ‘Hulk’, I think we need a dicisive striker and not just a stricker.. Hulk can be that stricker.. Combining his skills and power together with his double playing position, I think we shouldn’t give it a second thought to secure his signature ‘he is just another modern Drogba’… Moses should be purchased for that left wing position, we shouldnt underrate him b/c of his low price status, this boy could do great things for the club…

Is either we should go 4 hulk if fc port can sell him d amount we want 2 buy him or leave lucas piazon, sturridge and torres alone i believe they can do d job if we give them time and nt 2 rush them. Last season we dnt av quality mildfielder that can gave them killer pass all d player fight 4 ball. So it left 4 d management 2 decide.

Overpriced! But Chelsea can afford him and it’ll payoff. With a higher level of competition and the weight of $$$, Roman can invest in a large amount of players to have enough depth at making a run for the title, league cups, champions cup, as well as super cup. Hulk is great at Porto but he has little support. Add him to Marin, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, etc, Chelsea would have an attacking force to support Torres. Can’t replace Drogba, but you can built a team for the future as deadly as Drogba. Playmakers like Piazon and Oscar can really elevate another players abilities….

Just to think, RDM, can build an “A, B team”. Play B team against lesser teams. Build quality, form, fitness, etc all together. Build a philosophy at the Bridge and make a greater name of himself.

Looking forward to what the future can be at Chelsea FC.
