Things have been looking up for Chelsea in the past two weeks as Roberto Di Matteo has guided us to three wins in-a-row in the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League respectively. Next up is Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter final and although it’s against a team in the division below, it represents our best chance of silverware and we won’t be taking any chances.

The FA Cup is a competition that is close to Di Matteo’s heart for obvious reasons and he has said that he will pick the strongest team available to secure the west Londoner’s place at Wembley in the semi finals.

Both David Luiz and John Terry picked up knocks during the dramatic win against Napoli in the week which will give the manager something to think about, especially as he has a well rested Gary Cahill to choose.

I reckon there could also be a place for John Obi Mikel in the midfield as he will also be fresh and was one of the best players on the park when Chelsea played Stoke last weekend.

Both Juan Mata and Ashley Cole have played a lot of football this season and I don’t think it would do any harm to give them a little rest, at least omit them from the starting line-up.

The team I would pick to play Leicester?

P. Cech

J. Bosingwa – G. Cahill – D. Luiz – R. Bertrand

R. Meireles – J. Mikel

F. Lampard

D. Sturridge – F. Torres – S. Kalou

Who would be in your Chelsea XI for the FA Cup quarter final against Leicester tomorrow?

I gotta agree with defence . We gotta give Branislav a break but as for midfield , not so much. I’d prefer Essien to Mikel and since this is a HUGE match I’d go with Josh McEachran instead of Lampard. In up front , I would probably bring in Lukaku for Kalou or Sturridge after the 60th minute mark so we can just examine him and he could possibly end Fernando’s goal drought . CHEERS ALL 🙂
