Interim Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that he’s unsure whether Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles will commit his future to the Stamford Bridge club.

The former Liverpool player is reportedly unhappy over the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas and seemed visibly upset during the FA Cup fifth round replay against Birmingham, which has raised question marks over his future in west London.

Even though Di Matteo does not know what the player will decide to do, he says that he does not have any problems or issues with Meireles.

Speaking after Chelsea’s 5-2 win against Leicester, Matteo spoke about the man scored a goal and made one during the game:

“I do not know what the future holds.

“But he has been excellent for me, he scored last week as well and and has played really well.”

Meireles has been criticised for his recent performances with Chelsea but I think he’ll prove to be a useful addition to the squad if he sticks around a little while longer, what do you think the future holds for Raul Meireles?

I’d like to see him sold and replaced with someone MUCH better. We all know we only got him because we couldn’t get Modric.
I wish him success in his next club.

PS I would like to see him replaced with Lucas Moura
