Chelsea are ready to offer £14m for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill, according to the Daily Express.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were also thought to be interested in Cahill’s services but it now appears that Chelsea are the favourites to land the 25-year-old.

Bolton rejected a bid from Arsenal over the summer for Cahill’s services with manager Owen Coyle describing it as “derisory”. However, with Cahill’s contract out at the end of the season, the centre-back’s value is decreasing all the time.

Chelsea will be aware of this and should get their man for no more than £14m. If not, Bolton will lose Cahill for free next summer.

Very shortsighted chaps…. He is a very good central midfield playmaker aswell. A position Bolton fans have been shouting for him to cover this season. Thought you would already know this though ?
