There has been a lot of confusion and speculation surrounding the future of Palermo’s Javier Pastore, with rumours that an agreement has already been reached for the player to go to Paris Saint-Germain and stories that his agent is to discuss terms with Chelsea officials today.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini denied that Pastore to PSG is more-or-less a done deal, but confirmed that the player’s agent Marcelo Simonian will meet with Chelsea in the UK today.

Zamarini told Stadio News yesterday:

“Tomorrow [Friday] his agent Marcelo Simonian will be in London to meet Chelsea.”

He also played down reports that Pastore is PSG bound:

“It’s not true and this news is an invention.

“The only thing that is certain is that he is going abroad.

“We are in the decisive days now and I think Pastore is just one of a few world-class players, but I won’t say where he is going, even under torture.

“The offers are between €40million [£34.9m] and €50million [£43.6m].”

Chelsea are looking to bolster their midfield depth and are already close to signing promising youngster Oriol Romeu, but are yet to make a significant signing in that area and have so far failed to land Tottenham’s Luka Modric, could Javier Pastore, 22, be the Stamford Bridge club’s first big signing of the summer transfer window?

  7. Torres a flop? This is not the judgement time torres still have many to offer in chelsea like he said ( i have not forgoten how 2 score) i strongly believe that torres will restamp his name like the days of atletic mandrid and liverpool respectively. Therefore we need modric or pastore, it will be kidy if psg wins the race

Torres is not a flop… He just aint a hustler or one man attack minded army like rooney, tevez or drogba… He needs his team mates creativity to help him shine, that why we need a playmaker and a speedy tricky winger to change our game else we would still be playing with power upfront and torres will look useless and isolated and lose his confidence over time….. @shehu ur just a hausa donkey a stupid moron like the rest of ur tribe in nigeria… How can u say Chelsea shud sell their life long captain terry that has put his life and body on the line for us to win trophies in cardiff and wembley… I hate all these guys that started supporting chelsea last night and call themselves fans of this club and disloyal ones at that…Msheew
