A couple of days ago I published a rumour about Shakhtar Dontesk winger Willian, who is allegedly attracting the eyes of Chelsea, and since then the player has revealed that he is flattered by the reported interest the west London club have shown in him.
The 22-year-old told R7:
“[Chelsea’s interest] makes me happy, but there is nothing concrete as yet.
“There is no offer. It makes me happy, though, because it means my efforts are receiving recognition.
“There are some Brazilians there and they have great players. Chelsea are a big club in England.”
He also added that he’d enjoy any potential link up with Chelsea target Neymar in the future:
“Neymar is a great player. Despite his age, he is already showing he has a lot of quality. It would be great to play with him – he’s doing brilliantly at the moment.”
Willian’s contract is due to expire in 2012, so his club may be willing to sell this summer rather than lose one of their prized assets for free. The player has a release clause of £25m.
Chelsea are currently lacking in the wider areas and could probably do with signing a wing player or two, especially as Florent Malouda is getting on in years and Yury Zhirkov still hasn’t really settled into life in west London. Both players have also previously been linked with an exit this summer.
The Brazilian youngster has attracted the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea following his performances in the Champions League this season, especially for his role in Shakhtar’s 3-0 win over Roma in the second round, which you can see highlights from in the video below…

As I said, I think the club could definitely do with more depth in the wider areas of the pitch, could Willian be the right man for Chelsea or are there other wingers out there you have a preference for?

For me Willian is a very good player but I cannot see him becoming ‘World class’. He has a touch of the Ashley Young’s about him. Sanchez on the other hand is phenominal and improving and offers so much more as he can play both wide or in the centre off of the main striker. ‘If’ Chelsea could only buy one forward this summer (and lets hope it is a couple) I would personally list my top three as Sanchez, Neymar, Aguero in that order.

my wish list in order of priority- 1. Sanchez 2. Sanchez 3. Sanchez. 4. Any other defender. Carlo, we need someone who can harass opponents individually otherwise our team is almost perfect.
Seems to be a big call for Sanchez on here. I’d definitely have him at Chelsea, but still think Hazard is the better player.

Neymar and sanchez will suite chelsea the most.the brazilians performs at chelsea so at least a brazilian will do.hope carlo will make that decisive move.
