Former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben has hinted that he may leave Bayern Munich this summer if the German giants fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Bayern currently sit third in the Bundesliga, which would be enough to get them into the qualifying rounds of UEFA’s premier competition next season, but they are only one point ahead of Hannover 96 and have just six games left to secure their place.

Robben said:

“I am happy here in Munich and want to stay here. But I have learned from the past that one never knows what’s in the future.

“I have always said that I do not want to play in the Europa League. Bayern Munich are a team that absolutely have to play in the Champions League.”

Would you like to see Robben back at Stamford Bridge?

Many argue that Chelsea never really replaced the Dutchman since he left Stamford Bridge and there is a distinct lack of wide players at the club currently.

The player enjoyed a successive time during his last spell with the Blues where he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two league cups and one Community Shield. Robben played over 100 games in a Chelsea, scoring 19 goals with 22 assists.

I’m not so sure if such a move would be likely but the player is still at a good age at 27 and is capable of the spectacular as we saw when he played for us and during last season’s Champions League as he helped Bayern Munich reach the final after several moments of individual brilliance.

However, the ‘glass man’s’ injury problems are well documented and remain a worry. He also walked out on the club once before. But despite all that, would you have Robben back at Chelsea?

Bayern are keeping all their Stars because they have a ton of cash. They do not need the cash and the CL Final is in Munich 2012. They will qualify for the CL. That is a certainty. Rummenigge already said Robben and their stars are going nowhere!
