Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf believes that Carlo Ancelotti will leave Stamford Bridge this summer and revealed that he has even heard rumours about who will replace the Italian, in an interview with talkSPORT.

When asked for his thoughts on Ancelotti’s future and whether or not the Frenchman believes he’ll be leaving this summer, Leboeuf said:

“Definitely, I’ve heard some names already and I’m pretty sure there is going to be a change.

“It’s a pity in a way because Ancelotti could be a good manager but seeing the results, the atmosphere and the form right now it could be useful to change managers, but I think we will have to change some players to stop the problem coming back again.”

“Chelsea is a big club but the players are the bosses and they decide to do what they want.

“When a coach comes to Chelsea he doesn’t really see himself as King of the club. When you play for Manchester United you have Sir Ferguson as a leader and when you play for Arsenal you have Mr Wenger as a leader.”

The manager issue at the club has come under a lot of discussion lately, with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Frank Rijkaard and Marco van Basten being mooted as potential replacements for Ancelotti.

Leboeuf also argued that big changes need to be made in the squad, as well as in the staff and thinks that a few of the older players should be moved on for the benefit of the team’s long-term future:

“I think it’s almost the end of the cycle for some players who have spent more than five years at the club.

“I’m not talking about John Terry who was almost born at the club, but some others like Drogba and Lampard. They’re players I really like but maybe they need other challenges.

“It’s a hard time for them and I think Chelsea will have to get rid of some players if they want to be successful again.”

Do you agree with the ex-Chelsea man’s frank views on the club’s management and the squad?

I think the club needs freshening up and the work on that is already underway as players such as Ramires, Fernando Torres and David Luiz added to the Blues’ ranks, with young Brazilian Lucas Piazon set sign when he turns 18. But which players do you think we need to let go?

Also, the fact that Chelsea will be changing manager at the end of the season is becoming the worst kept secret and it looks increasingly unlikely that Ancelotti will be at the helm at Stamford Bridge for the beginning of the 2011/12 Premier League season. Do you think Ancelotti and Chelsea will part ways and if so, who do you think will be taking charge for next season?
