A couple of days ago it was revealed that Bayern Munich head coach Louis van Gaal had turned to the Premier League in a bid to end his defensive woes.

Van Gaal has found himself under pressure with a poor start to the season by Bayern’s high standards. In 5th, 14 points off the ridiculous pace set by the unstoppable Borussia Dortmund, something needs to be done.

Bayern will now turn to Chelsea’s strong Portuguese full-back Jose Bosingwa. The Portuguese defender has struggled to get into the team following a long term knee injury and Serbian International Branislav Ivanovic has impressed at right-back. In this current trend, Bosingwa may become frustrated at a lack of first team football.

Chelsea may not welcome any bid in January given their lack of decent cover for the position, but an inflated offer at a minimum of £12million may just be enough to twist their arm.

Bayern has shown an interest in the Chelsea full-back just over a year ago and Chelsea allegedly offered the player to Bayern in a player plus cash exchange in an attempt to sign Franck Ribery.

Recent criticism of the French wingers attitude and form may tempt Chelsea into making a similar offer come January. Blues’ chairman Roman Abramovich has been desperate to land Ribery and would sit as one of his prize possessions.

Chelsea may already be looking for a replacement for Bosingwa in time for the January sales. They will also be in the market for a centre-back following John Terry’s long term injury problems.
