There has been a lot of talk regarding Harry Redknapp and the vacant managerial position at Chelsea over the last 24 hours as the current Tottenham boss remains the bookies favourite to take the Stamford Bridge hot seat, even Blues legend Gianfranco Zola has argued that ‘Arry could be a success in west London.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who would be against such an appointment, it can’t happen, surely?

Here are five reasons why Redknapp won’t be the next manager at Chelsea:

1. Taxing problems:

He will go on trial in court this summer to face charges of tax evasion. Why would the club want to hire a manager that would be distracted by a lingering court case as they prepare for next season?

2. He’s had a terrible season:

Spurs drew nine times at White Hart Lane this season and their poor home form tells you all you need to know about why they couldn’t finish in the top four again this season.

3. Downgrade:

Many of Carlo Ancelotti’s critics accused the Italian of being tactically inept, lacking imagination and failing to make an impact on games with his like-for-like substitutions, but next to Redknapp, Carlo looks like a tactical genius with Jose-like powers.

4. Too old:

Ok, so at 64 he’s the same age as Guus Hiddink, who many would love to see back at the club and if he does comeback as manager it would only be a short-term measure, but Guus has already been successful at Chelsea, is already a club advisor and if he does come in as manager, he could potentially nurture his successor (perhaps Marco van Basten, who is also linked with the job) and eventually take a director’s role upstairs (assuming he doesn’t at first). As for Redknapp, I can’t see him bringing anything new to Chelsea at this stage of his career and is just waiting around for the England job anyway.

5. Blind spot:

‘Arry often sticks with his favourites and seems to play them regardless of their form, which he has been criticised for by his own club’s fans and there’s already too many players at Chelsea that are too comfortable in their places, in my opinion. Would you want a man who thinks Crouch is ‘triffic managing your club? A manager that sees Steven Pienaar as a better player Niko Kranjcar? A manager that rates his wife as a better finisher than Darren Bent?

totally forgot the point. Arry didn’t inherit a team in a relegation fight. 8 games in. so what? We wouldn’t have been anywhere near the bottom come the end of the season. The way Ramos ran things oscar the grouch from sesame street could have come in and lifted those players. Short term job done ish now he’s out of his depth and doesn’t care about the club, probably cos he grew up a gooner? So I don’t mind paying an over priced mini cab fare to cart him over to you blue lot if thats alright? Not always been anti, but the shit hes come out with lately has been V poor. cheers and who gives a fuck.

ken e winks…lol…`not won bought`..wtf u talking about? yes there was money spent on the club. there has been money spent on Man city and wat amazing results they have had ( not ) not forgetting the 100`s millions spent on real madrid. Wat have they won? How much have man u / liverpool, and SPURS spent in the last few years? spurs 2nd highest spenders last season behind man city. So dont gime that `bought` crap. They hired the best foreign manager in world in Jose and he got them all playing together. Spend all the money in world does not guarantee you win anything pal. Plz move on and accept that clubs spend HUGE amounts of money but only a handfull have ever won the prem.
