Chelsea are more likely to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham than Brighton starlet Moises Caicedo in order to solve their midfield quandaries.

What’s the word?

That is according to journalist Paul Brown, who has informed GIVEMESPORT of Chelsea’s potential changes in the engine room under the new regime of Graham Potter.

When asked if Bellingham and Declan Rice are more likely to be targeted by the Blues than Caicedo, the journalist issued a snappy response that is demonstrative of the level of competition who are fighting for the teenager’s signature.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Brown said: “Yes, Bellingham particularly. I think pretty much all of the top English clubs want Jude Bellingham.

“His people have obviously made several clubs aware that he would be interested in coming to the Premier League.”

Several clubs aware

Amidst Brown’s latest update, you can pretty much guarantee that the majority of Europe’s most esteemed outfits are lurking patiently in a bid to get the Dortmund star to put pen to paper.

And with many hoping that this campaign will mark his third and final season in the Bundesliga, we could well see the 19-year-old plying his trade in the Premier League as early as next year.

As such, Chelsea will of course prioritise the signing of a “superstar talent”, as pointed out by Mark Goldbridge on Twitter, over the signing of Caicedo, who may have to wait for his move away from Brighton if the Blues are able to prise Bellingham out of Signal Iduna Park.

With his ability to progress the ball one of his greatest strengths, having averaged three successful dribbles per game so far this season, the highest such average at Dortmund, Chelsea would majorly benefit from the inclusion of an asset who has created more big chances on his own than Chelsea’s central midfielders combined.
