Chelsea starlet Carney Chukwuemeka will not be ignored under Graham Potter, with his efforts not going unnoticed.

What’s the word?

That is according to journalist Simon Phillips, who has informed GIVEMESPORT of the 18-year-old’s work ethic, amidst his belief that the former Aston Villa-man will get chances under Potter this season.

The journalist believes that Chukwuemeka cannot keep being ignored.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Phillips said:

“He’s doing all he can and he’s working hard and there’s no way that he can keep being ignored going forward.

“I think he will get chances, whether that’s off the bench or a start here or there in a cup competition. As time goes on, he will definitely get more games.”

Chances will come

Upon Chukwuemeka’s arrival from Aston Villa in early August, Todd Boehly told Chelsea’s official website: “We are delighted to be able to bring him to Chelsea and add such a talented young individual to our squad for the new season and beyond.”

And whilst it was a signing that went slightly under the radar, amidst Chelsea’s summer transfer window haul of over £250million, the £20million-man clearly has a future at Stamford Bridge, with the Chelsea owner rating him highly enough to go against the grain of former manager Thomas Tuchel’s opinion.

As it stands, the 18-year-old is yet to make an appearance in domestic or European competition for Chelsea. Though, he has indeed featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against his Potter’s former club Brighton.

It was a game which hinted at his potential to become a future favourite under Potter, with the starlet having scored twice to secure victory for the Blues.

Chukwuemeka made 12 Premier League appearances under Villa boss Steven Gerrard last year, and will look to better that tally by staking his claim in the Chelsea first team.
