Todd Boehly-owned-Chelsea have secured the signing of Inter Milan starlet Cesare Casadei.

What’s the word?

That is according to the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, who took to his personal Twitter page to share the details of the transfer.

The ever-reliable super-journalist said:

“Cesare Casadei to Chelsea, here we go. Inter will receive €15m plus €5m in add-ons, documents ready & now set to be signed. There’s no buy back clause.

“Six year deal, medical in 48h. Boehly wanted Casadei as part of top talents strategy after Carney and Hutchinson.”

Huge development

The deal involving Casadei represents a huge development in both negotiations and in context of the bigger picture at Chelsea.

Boehly’s youth-filled “top talents” strategy is coming to fruition, with the 19-year-old Italian now the latest future star to join the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Omari Hutchinson who will be looking to become fully fledged first-team players over the next 2-3 seasons.

Casadei has built a big reputation in Italian Primavera football and has been dubbed a “wonderkid”  by Nizaar Kinsella during his time with Inter.

In 29 Primavera 1 appearances last season, Casadei demonstrated his ability as a progressive midfielder with 17 goal contributions in the form of 13 goals and four assists, in just 29 games.

The £12.6m Italian is in a similar mould to fellow countryman Jorginho, with his ability to add sustainability to the midfield and directly chip in with goals.

The update from Romano will surely come as a boost for Chelsea fans who are witnessing their club cause havoc in the market this summer.
