The return of the Premier League is just around the corner, and Chelsea kick off their season away to Brighton at the Amex Stadium for the first Monday Night Football of the campaign.

After a busy summer transfer window, Frank Lampard will be looking to kick thing’s off with a big three points against Graham Potter and his men, with betting promo codes available if you’re looking to back the Blues and it is likely that we will see some new signings take to the pitch for their Chelsea debut’s come Monday.

Individuals such as Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech have provided the Blues with a new lease of attacking life, and the Chelsea faithful will be hoping that Super Frank gives them a chance against the Seagulls.

Predicted XI

Despite the lack of games, the squad has had together – I am convinced that Lampard will starts four of his new signings in Chilwell, Havertz, Ziyech, and Werner. The attacking trio will likely be accompanied by Christian Pulisic on the left wing, with Kante and Jorginho finishing the midfield in the two holding positions. The defence will be completed with Zouma, Rüdiger, and Azpilicueta alongside new boy Ben Chilwell, giving the blues an improvement in defence from last season. Despite it being evident that the club are looking for a new No.1 between the sticks – Kepa is the clubs go to as it stands and will be first choice in goal for the clubs first game of the season. I expect Werner to have a positive start to his career at Stamford Bridge with a goal against the opponents.

Score Prediction – Brighton & Hove Albion 1-3 Chelsea

Brighton have assembled an impressive squad over recent seasons, and this summer have made some important signings during the transfer window. Dutch defender Joel Veltman joined the club from Ajax, and midfielder Adam Lallana from Liverpool – as well as securing Ben White with a new contract after his successful loan to Leeds, Chelsea will have a task on their hands in their opening game. However, I still feel that Lampard’s squad has the talent and ability to secure a comfortable win against Potter’s side – especially with the new attacking outlet at the club. Expect to see a debut goal from Werner and Havertz, as well as an attacking masterclass from Hakim Ziyech alongside them, with the Blues running out 3-1 winners.
