Fans of Chelsea took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to air their dissatisfaction at the club posting an ‘on this day’ tweet.
Following the Blues’ narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, fans were left frustrated with the club’s official account taking a trip down memory lane.
Despite the posting reminiscing over the fact it was 13 years, to the day, since current gaffer, Frank Lampard, scored a spectacular chip against Barcelona – fans still were not pleased.

A Marcus Rashford penalty and superlative free-kick sunk the Blues on Wednesday night, knocking Lampard’s side out at the fourth round of the competition.
With fans having expected better and initially wanting revenge following the Red Devils’ opening day 4-0 mauling of Chelsea, supporters had little patience for their club.

What do we think?
While fans had expected better, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has begun to turn around the Old Trafford club’s form – proving Wednesday night to be a tough test for Lampard and his men.
While defeat has, evidently, got under the skins of supporters – the tie was a good opportunity for Lampard to blood youngsters against strong Premier League opposition (per The Telegraph), which he did.
