Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter to air their confusion over Willian’s nomination for the Premier League’s Player of the Month.

On Friday, it was announced that the Blues’ Brazillian winger had been nominated for the Premier League’s October Player of the Month award (via Chelsea).

The 31-year-old has been selected alongside Jack Grealish, Dean Henderson, Jamie Vardy, Youri Tielemans and Ilkay Gundogan as a nomination for the award.

However, fans were baffled by Willian’s selection with some supporters believing the Brazilian had not had a month good enough to deserve qualification.

Over the duration of October the 31-year-old featured in all three of the club’s Premier League outings in which they earned a 100% winning record.

In terms of goals reward, the winger managed to bag a single goal for himself against Burnley and two assists, one in the same game as his goal and another against Southampton (per Transfermarkt).

With supporters feeling as though the Brazilian was undeserving of his nomination, one fan even went as far as to vote against the 31-year-old in favour of Vardy.

What do we think?

The attacker has an average rating of 7.2/10 in the league for the Blues (via Whoscored), meaning that Willian must be doing something right in a Chelsea shirt.

With an 8.16/10 against Burnley, a 7.88/10 for the Newcastle clash and a 7.94/10 against Southampton (per Whoscored); it is perhaps not as big a surprise to see Willian included as supporters may believe.
