Many Chelsea fans on Twitter have congratulated and praised ex-captain John Terry on the 21st anniversary of his debut for the club.

The official Chelsea Twitter account posted a picture of a young Terry, when he was 17 years old as a Chelsea prospect to mark the special occasion.

Chelsea fans were quick to share their love for their former captain.

Here’s a sample of Chelsea fans praising John Terry:

The current Aston Villa assistant head coach made 711 appearances for Chelsea, winning five Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three English League Cups, a Europa League and a Champions League title (per Transfermarkt).

What do we think?

The word ‘legend’ gets thrown around when talking about ex-footballers, but in John Terry’s case, the word ‘legend’ is an accurate description for a man who gave everything for his club and won the lot on the way. There will always be a debate on who the best ever Premier League defender is (The Telegraph), but nobody can debate how influential and monumental Terry was in his long career at Chelsea.
