Since the opening day defeat for Lampard and his side, the two club’s fortunes have switched – with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils falling on stonier form in recent months (per BBC).
With Blues fans still reeling, many were calling for Lampard to start a full-strength Chelsea side in the Carabao Cup clash.

What do we think?
While supporters will be keen to see their side return the favour lent by Solskjaer’s side at the beginning of the season – the Carabao Cup presents a fantastic opportunity for youngsters.
Lampard will be able to give young players the experience against Premier League opposition which will stand them in good stead, whilst resting key players – and should the Blues exact revenge in those circumstances it will taste all the sweeter.
