Chelsea fans piled on to Twitter on Sunday evening to reminisce over the career of former left-back, Ashley Cole.
Following a tweet posted to the Blues’ official account where Cole was pictured at an American football match in Texas, fans of Chelsea filled the comments section with their feelings over the former Chelsea defender.
Across the replies fans labelled Cole a legend and went as far as to exclaim that the 38-year-old had been the best ever English left-back.

Cole joined Chelsea from Arsenal in 2006 for a fee of £6.7 million (as per Transfermarkt) and went on to have an eight-year stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Englishman starred in 338 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven and assisting 38 over that period (per Transfermarkt).
Most notably in his time with Chelsea, the Blues secured the Champions League in 2010 against Bayern Munich with Cole at left-back and while some felt the club had not yet replaced his talent, others looked back with fond memories.

What do we think?
With such an impressive record behind the former Chelsea defender (Transfermarkt), it is difficult not to consider Cole a Blues legend.
Although the ending to his career was not as glamorous as his time at Stamford Bridge, with the 28-year-old having hung up his boots and returned to Chelsea as a youth team coach – Cole can look back on what was a fantastic career.
