Despite not often featuring for the Blues this season, Willian has publicly declared that he’s confident that the Blues can challenge for titles this season.

Due to his involvement in Brazil’s triumphant Copa America campaign, the 31-year-old has been restricted to a mere 55 minutes of action for Chelsea this season (stretching across three substitute appearances in the Premier League).

As we all know, Chelsea’s start to the season has seen a series of unfavourable results, with the Blues, positioned 11th in the Premier League table.

Chelsea travel to Wolves this weekend as they look to register their second league victory of the campaign and build crucial momentum ahead of a busy period in the calendar.

Willian, one of Chelsea’s longest-serving players, – who has made 295 appearances for the Blues – is clearly confident of achieving further success with the club this term.

Here’s what the winger told Sky Sports,

“I think Chelsea can win some titles this season, I know it will be hard this season to win titles, as usual, it is always hard.”

“It is difficult when you lose players like David Luiz, Eden Hazard, but we have some quality young players here who can improve a lot and in the future become one of the best players in the league. I think we have a great team.

“But Chelsea is a big club and this shirt is heavy. When Chelsea go into a competition we go to win.”

“It does not matter the players, it does not matter the coach, every year we want to win something, and I think this year we can do it again.”
