International football represents an opportunity for clubs to monitor and evaluate the performances of their players. And a couple of Chelsea’s young stars have impressed while on duty with England’s under-21 side.

Marc Guehi and Trevoh Chalobah (on loan at Huddersfield Town) impressed for England’s under-21 side as they helped their side triumph 2-0 over Kosovo in a European qualifier. The duo, as per Chelsea’s official website, started in a back-three for England.

Guehi is the captain of Chelsea’s under-23 side, and he started all four of the Blues’ Premier League 2 games this campaign.

The 19-year-old has opened his scoring account for the season after netting in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City’s under-23 team in August.

The teenage defender also captained the Blues to a 3-2 victory over Swindon Town in their EFL trophy game of the season.

Meanwhile, Trevoh Chalobah has already amassed a season of senior football, making 44 appearances for Ipswich Town last season and contributing towards three goals (two scored, one assist).

The 20-year-old has featured in all, but one of Huddersfield’s Championship games this term, and he scored his first goal for the Terriers in a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City.

Judging by the reaction of Chelsea fans on social media, they were pleased with the pair’s efforts for England. Some fans have even called for Marc Guehi to feature for Chelsea’s senior team, this season.

Here’s the best of the reaction:
