In his pre-match press conference, Frank Lampard has confirmed that Antonio Rudiger is fit and available for selection to face Wolves this weekend.
Much to the delight of Chelsea fans, Antonio Rudiger is primed to return to action this weekend as the Blues travel to the Molineux Stadium to face Wolves on Saturday.
The Blues have endured a problematic defensive line this season, with Chelsea shipping nine goals in four league games. However, the return of the German centre-back is likely to stabilise Frank Lampard’s defence.
Since joining the club in the summer of 2017, the 26-year-old quickly developed into one of the club’s most important players.
In just two full seasons with the club, the Germany international has made a staggering 89 appearances, helping Chelsea to FA Cup and Europa League titles.
Knee surgery curtailed the German’s end to the last campaign, as he missed the Blues’ 4-1 triumph against Arsenal in the Europa League final.
Nonetheless, no one can disregard the German’s importance to the club, and fans will be hoping that the German will be back to his best against Wolves.
Chelsea only managed to attain one point from a possible six against Nuno’s team in the league last season. Therefore, they must be wary of the challenge they pose.
Here’s how Chelsea fans have reacted to the news on social media:
