Chelsea’s return to Europe’s premier club competition is only a week away, and excitement is beginning to build ahead of their clash against Valencia.
Chelsea’s resounding 4-1 triumph against Arsenal in the final of the Europa League ensured the club’s return to the Champions League, following a year-long absence.
As the international period draws to a close, there’s only a week until the Blues welcome Valencia at Stamford Bridge for the first game in Group H.
In their previous three attempts (15/16, 16/17 and 17/18) Chelsea have failed to go further than the last-16 in the Champions League. With Paris Saint-Germain (twice) and Barcelona knocking the Blues out of Europe.
Frank Lampard and Chelsea will be hoping for better luck this season as they aim to compete on all four fronts.
Ahead of the Blues’ return to the Champions League, their squad for the competition has been announced, as officially released by Chelsea.
Given the Blues’ transfer ban, Frank Lampard has selected a youthful squad to represent the club on the biggest stage of all.
