Since his move to Stamford Bridge at the start of last season, Jorginho has quickly developed into a key player for the Blues.
Such was the admiration for Jorginho in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were eager to sign the Italian midfielder. Thankfully, the Italy international chose Chelsea’s royal shade of blue, and he’s impressed ever since.
The 27-year-old featured in all but one Premier League fixtures for the Blues last term, and he’s already started every game for Chelsea (in all competitions) this campaign.
In just over a season of representing the West London side, Jorginho has become one of the club’s most important players. The midfielder has been demonstrating similar form on international duty with Italy.
Italy have performed tremendously well in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. The Azzuri, managed by former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, have won all six of their qualifying games so far.
In their latest game against Finland who trail Italy in second in Group J, Jorginho made a decisive contribution. The midfielder scored the winning goal via a penalty to secure another three points for his country, thereby maintaining their perfect start to the group.
His all-important contribution for Italy delighted Chelsea fans on social media.
