According to Goal, Kenedy and Davide Zappacosta face the axe at Chelsea in the coming days as manager Frank Lampard looks to trim down the core of his squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

Premier League clubs are only able to have 17 foreign players registered for the new season which means the aforementioned duo, as well as Tiemoue Bakayoko, face a cull in order to meet the regulations.

Lampard has already made it clear that he would like Reece James as part of his squad to back up right-back Cesar Azpilicueta for the new season over the Italian, Zappacosta, whilst Kenedy is the only winger in the squad that is primarily left-footed.

Fans at Stamford Bridge took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the pair potentially leaving the club this week.

One supporter said it was rubbish as the club needs them both next season, highlighting the fact that Azpilicueta got tired at points during last season and that Kenedy has shown quality.

Another fan said selling Kenedy would be ‘the biggest mistake ever’ whilst one member of the Chelsea support claimed that Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater should be sold instead.
