It was a rather quiet transfer window at Stamford Bridge this summer but that was only because the club have been operating under a transfer ban.

However, even with deadline day passing and the fact they can’t actually sign anybody until next summer, Chelsea have been linked with a surprise move for Wilfried Zaha.

The Sun claim that should the Blues’ transfer ban be overturned by January then they will launch an audacious £80m bid for the Crystal Palace ace – who has reluctantly stayed at the club following a transfer request.

Moves to either Arsenal or Everton failed to come to fruition as both club’s elected to sign other targets with the former clinching Nicolas Pepe for a club-record £72m whilst the latter signed Alex Iwobi four hours past the official 5pm deadline.

A number of supporters have taken to social media to share their thoughts.

One fan claimed there was ‘no chance’ of it happening whilst others pleaded with FIFA to keep the club banned as they clearly don’t want the 26-year-old switching to West London.

Another supporter said the club was finished and a further fan wanted the club to try and pursue Jadon Sancho instead especially for that amount of money.

Here’s the best of the reaction…
