Chelsea could be about to steal one of Bayern Munich’s promising youngsters after Sport1 revealed they have offered a contract to 16-year-old midfielder Torben Rhein, which has left many supporters of the club revelling in the news.

A number of supporters see the move as revenge for Bayern’s recent behaviour over one of their own stars.

Rhein is highly-rated in Bavaria and has begun the season playing for the club’s under-19s under former Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis, even though he is eligible for the under-17s.

In January, winger Callum Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request as he wasn’t receiving much game time under former boss Maurizio Sarri.

Bayern soon made their interest known with a number of bids. The latest news was that they were preparing a £45m offer – a £10m increase on what they reportedly presented in January.

Hudson-Odoi is now expected to sign a new contract whilst the club swooping in to poach one of Bayern’s young stars has been seen as an act of vengeance.

One supporter asked what does that taste like, before answering his own question, saying it “tastes like karma”. Another fan said take that you bullies, after all that time trying to pinch Hudson-Odoi this is a sucker punch.

Others lauded Marina Granovskaia, claiming she is beating Bayern at their own game, labelling it a “masterclass”. One member of the Stamford Bridge support even said it was payback for their annoying pursuit over the 18-year-old.
