According to the Telegraph, Chelsea will make a move to re-sign their former centre-back Nathan Ake if manager Frank Lampard decides he needs to replace the departed David Luiz once the club’s transfer ban had expired next summer.

Ake originally left Stamford Bridge in a £20m move to AFC Bournemouth back in 2016 and has a £40m clause which states that Chelsea can purchase him back for that amount provided the player agrees to it.

The 24-year-old has become an integral part of Eddie Howe’s side having featured for them on 91 occasions though a potential reunion in West London hasn’t pleased too many Chelsea supporters.

One fan called the Dutchman ‘so average’ and claimed the club need to sign world class players whilst ‘mediocre’ and ‘trash’ were just two more words used to describe their former youngster.

Another supporter said ‘no thanks’, stating the club need to get a ‘top draw one’ if they are going to improve on what they already had. He also said that Ake at £40m is ‘no better’ than their current options.
