There are stunning reports coming out of Chelsea as this transfer window comes to a close, even though the club aren’t able to actually sign anybody.
According to L’Equipe, David Luiz missed training on Wednesday in order to push through a move to local rivals Arsenal with the deadline approaching later on Thursday.
The 32-year-old only signed a new two-year contract in May and has worked under Arsenal boss Unai Emery when the pair were at Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal’s pursuit for a high-quality centre-back looks to have hit a wall with bids rejected for Daniele Rugani from Juventus and Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
Whilst Frank Lampard ran with a defensive partnership of Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma in his final pre-season friendly with Antonio Rudiger’s return from injury soon to be on the horizon.
Chelsea fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the madness.
One said it would be a massive mistake on Chelsea’s part whilst another said it made zero sense as the player had expressed his love for the club and the excitement which was brewing under their new boss.
Others had contrasting opinions as one member of the Blues fanbase claimed he would pay for him to leave the club and another labelled the Brazilian a ‘snake,’ asking him to get away from the club.

This is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.. What would he move for..?? Money?? Trophies?? Arsenal don’t have any of those

Don’t get the logic in Luiz if true but i’m more than happy with that….
Zouma, Tomori, Christensen & Rudiger for the season and get good money for 32 year old Luiz!

The only logical reason for this potential move is we have 5 defenders and he’s not guaranteed to start but would be guaranteed to start at Arsenal. If he refused to train then that is surprising and if so should be sold.

How random.. Lampard must have told him he won’t be a starter once everyone is fit
