Chelsea’s right-back Reece James may be close to returning from injury – if his latest tweet is anything to go by. The picture has left many supporters at Stamford Bridge excited ahead of a potential first-team berth happening sooner than originally expected.

The young 19-year-old impressed during last season’s loan spell at Wigan Athletic, where he picked up a trio of awards at the end of season party including Player of the Season. He earned seven Man of the Match awards, scored three goals and laid on three assists in 45 appearances in the Championship last term.

His performances clearly caught the eye of manager Frank Lampard after it was revealed the 41-year-old was keen to have the starlet back up Cesar Azpilicueta this season – instead of Davide Zappacosta.

Many Chelsea fans seem to agree, responding to James’ latest tweet saying that he is the future captain of the club as well as being a future legend.

Others claimed that by Christmas, the exciting prospect will become the first choice right-back at the club – even ahead of Azpilicueta.

Another fan said it was good to see him back training and that he was gutted he missed pre-season whilst one supporter believed that next season was his, stating he can’t wait to see him play.
