After swapping Pride Park for Stamford Bridge after just one season with Derby County, Frank Lampard left a bitter taste in the mouths of some Derby fans.
However, with news of Ethan Ampadu being loaned out for next season, following his exclusion from Chelsea’s touring party to Japan, Derby fans know a way he can pay the club back.
Derby fans were reacting after the comments made by Lampard about Ampadu leaving the club on loan, saying the 41-year-old owed them Ampadu after his departure this summer.
The 18-year-old Welshman enjoyed a frustrating season at Chelsea last campaign playing just 12 games at both senior and youth levels. Ampadu signed a new five-year deal at the club on September 2018.
