Frank Lampard has been linked with the vacant manager’s job at Chelsea ever since former manager Maurizio Sarri left the club for Italian champions Juventus.
The saga seems to have been rumbling on for quite a while now, however, there have been fresh developments as of a few minutes ago. Derby County have given Lampard the first two days of pre-season off so that discussions can continue regarding a romantic return to Stamford Bridge.
Derby County has excused Frank Lampard from reporting back for pre-season training on Monday and Tuesday to allow his discussions regarding a potential move to Chelsea to be concluded as soon as possible.

Lampard enjoyed a glittering career at Stamford Bridge scoring 209 goals in over 600 appearances for the club, and a return as a manager is already gathering excitement among Chelsea fans.
However, Chelsea fans seemed to be ashamed with the conduct of the club with regards to this whole saga, and were in a unanimous agreement about Derby County’s conduct in the whole affair, with some fans praising the Championship club.
