Christian Pulisic has cut short his summer break following his excursions at the Gold Cup to join up with the Chelsea squad in Japan.

The news is reported to have pleased new manager Frank Lampard, who is thrilled at the commitment shown by the United States international.

“Christian joins us on Tuesday,” Lampard told reporters. “He’s had a short break, but he wanted to get back with us quickly, which I certainly appreciate.” (Source: Goal)

And after the club’s official Twitter account tweeted an image of the American in training, fans were thrilled.


The 20-year-old joined Chelsea in January from Borussia Dortmund for a fee reported to be £57.6m. Pulisic made 127 appearances with Dortmund, contributing 47 goals in all competition.
