With Chelsea seemingly turning to Frank Lampard to lead the club next season, fans are starting to get excited over the prospect of being led by club legend and record goalscorer.

It seems to appoint people who have a strong history with the club appeals to the Stamford Bridge faithful and after reports from Matt Law that Jody Morris and Joe Edwards could return, Chelsea fans were ecstatic.

According to Matt Law, Morris and Edward could return to Chelsea as assistants to Lampard, who is closing in on a return to Stamford Bridge.


Morris was a former-Chelsea player, making 160 appearances for the Blues while playing alongside Lampard. Morris has been working alongside Lampard as his assistant manager at Derby County, as the Championship club reached the Championship play-off final last season.

Edwards came through the club’s academy, and while he never made a first-team appearance, he has been a part of the Chelsea coaching set-up since 2004.
