Tonight is the night. Frank Lampard is managing his first game as the Chelsea boss as the club start their pre-season schedule in Ireland against Bohemians.
Lampard completed a romantic return to Chelsea last week, joining the club from Derby County to take over the vacant manager’s role after Maurizio Sarri departed for Juventus.
The game is sure to be a special occasion for the 41-year-old who enjoyed a long career at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard played more than 600 games for Chelsea, scoring over 200 goals in a glittering career. The former England midfielder won 11 major honours with the club, including three Premier League titles.
The fans were reacting to a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account, who seemed to be building the excitement among the fanbase.
